This 20.5 mile trail runs all the way from Florida’s capital city to the small coastal town of St. Marks. Through the early 1900’s the railroad was used to carry cotton from the plantation belt to the coast to be shipped to England.
I noticed while I was there that the wide paved trail is predominantly used by bikers, but I found it to be a very pleasant walk. I believe my friend and I walked about 5 miles total, joking around that we felt like old ladies going for a walk together on a Sunday morning.
This trail is a great way to get some exercise in if you don’t have much time or don’t like the more rugged nature trails in town.
