North Georgia

16 December – 18 December 2015

I took a much needed vacation to North Georgia last week. It is a truly beautiful place. We stayed in Ellijay, which is about 20 minutes south of Blue Ridge. During our short time there we visited Amicalola Falls, Brasstown Bald and Anna Ruby Falls. Additionally, we completed half of the Russell-Brasstown Scenic Highway loop.

Life lesson: Civics do not do well in the mountains and weather can always ruin a nice mountain view.

Pro tip: Airbnb is amazing, try it out! We stayed at a secluded cabin in the mountains for the same price as a three star hotel. Also, if you are staying in a house or apartment during your travels, buy groceries to save money. We did this instead of eating out (and I am not saying don’t try local restaurants — you should!) and saved a lot of money. In total, I believe we only spent $40 on groceries for two people for three days.
